RETTmobil 2018: Eberspaecher ensures optimum temperatures on every rescue operation

7 March 2018

– Plugtronic: Electric heat for the engine and the passenger compartment

– Airtronic: Air heater guarantees consistent temperatures in the patients’ compartment

– Customized heating and air-conditioning solutions

Esslingen, 7 March 2018 – Emergency vehicles and ambulances equipped with heaters and air-conditioning systems not only fulfill statutory temperature specifications in the patients’ compartment, but also improve working conditions for emergency responders. From electrical heaters to split air-conditioning systems – Eberspaecher will be displaying customized solutions for this at the RETTmobil 2018 trade fair from May 16 to 18 in Fulda, Germany.

The new Plugtronic electric heating system provides cozy warmth at the start of each rescue operation. It offers exceptional ease of use: To start the heating mode, simply connect the power cable to a socket (230 V) and the plug-in device on the vehicle. Plugtronic is a modular and expandable system: The electric engine heater heats the cooling circuit of the vehicle. In addition, the Plugtronic range includes compact compartment heaters that can be flexibly positioned throughout the passenger cabin. Depending on requirements, the engine as well as the driver and patients’ cabin can be pre-heated. Alternatively, the battery can be charged automatically via the battery charging device.

Customized heating and air-conditioning solutions for rescue operations
The system supplier for heating and cooling has a broad portfolio that is tailored to the extreme requirements of rescue services. The fuel operated Airtronic air heater warms the passenger compartment quickly and reliably to the required temperature. It can be flexibly controlled by a timer, remote control or with the EasyStart Web App. The Airtronic system provides an adjustable, constant temperature in the passenger compartment before and during the journey. This is particularly important when casualties who must be kept warm due to their medical symptoms are being transported. The system also provides air-conditioning in the interior compartment of rescue vehicles. For instance, Eberspaecher offers the complete design and integration of split air-conditioning systems. Existing air-conditioning systems can also be expanded by including additional evaporators. An air-conditioned driver’s cabin is particularly important on hot summer days, for example, as it allows drivers to concentrate on the road traffic and the rescue operation.
